NW Hill Road
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The NW Hill Road Improvement Project is one of the five Capital Improvement Projects identified within the Transportation Bond. This project, located at the western limits of town, was a two-lane rural corridor. Travel lanes and shoulders were narrow and bike lanes and sidewalks were not present.
This project performed widening and other improvements between NW 2nd Street and NW Baker Creek Road, including wider travel lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks, turn lanes, landscaping, and improved roadway geometry. The “S-curves” at Fox Ridge Road were softened and major intersections at Baker Creek Road, Wallace Road and 2nd Street now include roundabout control.
Field survey and traffic analysis to support concept development are complete. Construction began early October 2017, and is considered largely complete as of January 2019 with landscaping details remaining.

Hill Road between NW 2nd Street and Baker Creek Road
Landscape and grading crews will continue grading, mulching and planting throughout the corridor. Please be cautious and obey traffic control devices, flaggers, road closures and detour routes when they are in place.
Throughout the corridor, daytime closures and\or lane restrictions will be necessary at times while crews complete striping, sidewalks, sign installation, landscaping, irrigation and other miscellaneous work. Utility Companies will also continue pulling wire and preparing for the undergrounding of the overhead lines. Once the undergrounding of the utilities is complete and the existing poles are removed, the Contractor will be able to complete the remainder of the sidewalk and other miscellaneous finish work. Please be cautious in the area and obey traffic control devices, flaggers, road closures and detour routes when they are in place.
