Solids Treatment Capacity Improvements
Schedule: April 2020 – early 2025
Budget: $21.6 million
Funding source: Wastewater Capital Fund 77
Engineer: Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc.
Prime contractor: J.W. Fowler, Inc.
This project will increase the capacity of the solids treatment process at the City’s Water Reclamation Facility. The prime contractor, J.W. Fowler, will begin construction in late May 2023 and the project is expected to be completed in early 2025.
The treatment plant produces high quality class “A” biosolids that are applied to agricultural fields as a beneficial resource, adding moisture and nutrients to the fields during the summer land application season. The scope of work includes replacement of the existing solids treatment facilities with higher capacity, more efficient digestors, replacement of the existing odor control facility, improvements to increase solids storage capacity during winter months and upgrading instrumentation and control systems.
