Thompson Park

Named in memory of Erling “Tommy” and Katherine Thompson, owners of the popular “Tommy’s Bike and Hobby Shop” from 1960-1986.  Katherine Thompson and family agreed to sell this park property to the City in 2002.  This 2.5 acre neighborhood park in intended for neighborhood use but is a great destination for families and very small groups with young children.  Parking is extremely limited.  Park features include picnic shelter, playground structure w/swings (for ages 2-12), basketball court, horseshoe pits, hard-surface walking path (.30 mile) and open lawn-turf area.  Single occupancy restroom available. Dogs prohibited in playground areas. Dogs must remain leashed; Off-leash activities prohibited. Park opened in 2003.
