Adaptive Programs are community based recreation programs and events specially designed for people with disabilities or for people who need a more adaptive/inclusive environment. Our programs are designed to provide extra support and encourage community building for those with disabilities.

Adaptive Swim for children
This swim has been designed to create a welcoming environment while maintaining safety for children with light and noise sensitivity, physical, emotional, behavioral, learning and or other disabilities. An adult is required in the water with all children. Financial assistance is available for this water program.

my angelfish & Me -Adaptive swim lessons
Designed for children with a developmental age of up to 6 years of age. Pool staff will help assess the best swim lesson format for your child (i.e. parent & child, private/semi-private or traditional swim lesson format). Financial Assistance is available for this program. Contact the Aquatic Center for dates/times and availability at 503-434-7309
Adaptive Swim for adults
Designed to create a welcoming environment for adults who experience a wide variety of disabilities that make it challenging to enjoy the pool. An adult assistant may be required in the water with the participant. Financial Assistance is available for this program. Contact the Aquatic Center at 503-434-7309 for upcoming dates and times.
Adaptive pe
This class will explore different ways to move your body through a variety of sports including elements of gymnastics and dance. Class starting Oct 7. Visit bit.ly/MPRonline to register. Ages: 6-16. Instructors: Parks and Recreation Staff
