Hotspot Checkout
You can use your hotspot to connect to a total of eight Wi-Fi capable devices to the mobile broadband network.
A user guide will be included with the device you check out. It can also be found here.
Overdue hotspots will be deactivated if in an overdue status. Overdue fines will accrue at $1.00 per day up to $5.00. After five days, you will
be billed $85 for a replacement charge for the hotspot in addition to the overdue
fee.

City property taxes support the library. The different library card levels reflect the differences in property taxes paid by those who live inside and outside the city limits of McMinnville.
CCRLS is a cooperative effort of 18 member libraries in the Central Willamette Valley of Western Oregon. CCRLS includes 17 public libraries as well as the Chemeketa Community College Library. Learn more about CCRLS and its member libraries.
Library Home Delivery
To qualify you must (1) have a CCRLS library account, (2) owe less than $40 on your library account, and (3) live within a four mile radius of the center of the cities of McMinnville, Lafayette, Carlton, and Yamhill.
This is an opt-in service only. If you do not sign up for the program we will not deliver materials to your home.
It’s free to anyone that qualifies for the program.
In keeping with Oregon Health Authority guidelines, we do not make deliveries to nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, residential care facilities, adult foster homes, or group homes where there are significant numbers of “high risk” populations for health complications due to COVID-19. However, we do delivery to retirement communities and other facilities where strict physical distancing is and can be maintained. Please contact us for more information and to find out if a specific location qualifies for the program.
All library employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and practice strict physical distancing procedures at every delivery location. No library employee that is or has recently been sick will participate in deliveries or checking in/out materials.
This is an opt-in program. Patrons must call the library, email us, or sign up on our website and ask to be included. Our phone number is (503) 435-5561 and email is libref@mcminnvilleoregon.gov. You can also sign up using the online form here. At sign up we will ask to verify that we have the correct address for you on file.
No. But do note that deliveries will only be made to your location at most once a week. We have hundreds of locations we now deliver to. With limited staff time, vehicle options, and vehicle space, we cannot guarantee a delivery every week. We promise to do what we can with the resources we have.
The easiest way to request materials for delivery is to search on the catalog website for what you want and then to place a hold on the material. Our courier is now running Mon-Thur and all CCRLS libraries except Salem Public Library are routing their materials. If you need help navigating this process, please give us a call and we can walk you through it. If you would like our reference or children’s librarians to help you select new materials, you may call the children’s line at (503) 435-5559 or the reference line at (503) 435-5562.
If you don’t have your card number or password please still give us a call at 503-435-5561. Library staff will verify the information on file and can either place requests for you or issue you a temporary login.
If you have items to be returned you can either return them to our outside library book drop or give the materials to our delivery librarians in the packaging in which they were delivered to you (i.e. plastic or canvas bag).
Yes, you may come into the library to pick up your holds if you would like to. The building is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-8 and Saturdays from 10-5. To get more details on the services we are providing and how we are managing opening, click here.
We recommend that you or someone in your family is home to accept delivery. But it is not necessary. If you are not at home library staff will leave your materials at your doorstep or in another location you inform us is a safe place to leave the materials. If that is not possible or you do not wish for us to leave deliveries when you are not home, please indicate this when signing up for the program.
When setting up your account for this program, staff will ask if there is a cell phone number we can text to let you know when we are on our way to your home. You will get a text when the driver is leaving the library and when they are expected to be about 15 minutes away. If you do not have a cell phone for delivery notifications, we cannot notify you prior to delivery. We apologize for this inconvenience to our land line patrons.
We are delivering to McMinnville locations with SW and SE in their address on Sundays. We deliver to all McMinnville NW addresses on Wednesdays. And we deliver to McMinnville NE addresses and those outside the city of McMinnville on Fridays. Your delivery driver will most likely deliver between the hours of 11am and 5pm on whatever day you are scheduled for.
Delivery drivers will not stop at your location only for library material returns. We will only stop at your location if you have requested materials and we have had enough time to process that request prior to your delivery day. Otherwise, we will deliver those materials to you the next week or you may come into the library to pick them up in person on a day we are open.

Generally, the answer would be yes, as long as the addition does not encroach into any required setbacks or extend more than 35 feet in height, and that all other required building code requirements are met. In the multi-family zones (R-4 and R-5), that height limit is 60 feet. You are encouraged to contact the McMinnville Building Division for further information regarding such plans.
The keeping of certain animals in McMinnville is regulated, in part, by Section 8.10.130 of the McMinnville Municipal Code. Under certain circumstances, it is permitted to keep chickens, rabbits, horses, goats, and/or other livestock. It is not permissible, however, to keep exotic, dangerous, or wild animals as determined by the Yamhill County Animal Control Office and the City Planning Department.
