Home delivery service is offered to all McMinnville patrons living within city limits

This is an opt-in service. If you or someone you know may be interested in having your library materials delivered to your front door, please fill out the online Home Delivery form below, or give us a call at (503) 435-5561, or email us at libref@mcminnvilleoregon.gov and we can give you all the details to get you setup. Who qualifies for the program?

To qualify you must (1) have a CCRLS library account, (2) owe less than $40 on your library account, and (3) live within McMinnville city limits

What if I don’t want you to deliver to my door? Will everyone be getting their items delivered?

This is an opt-in service only. If you do not sign up for the program we will not deliver materials to your home.

What does it cost?

It’s free to anyone that qualifies for the program.

What about patrons living in group homes or assisted living? Will they be able to sign up?

We do delivery to retirement communities and other facilities. Please contact us for more information and to find out if a specific location qualifies for the program.

How will you keep library patrons safe?

All library employees are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and practice strict physical distancing procedures at every delivery location. No library employee that is or has recently been sick will participate in deliveries or checking in/out materials.

How do people sign up?

This is an opt-in program. Patrons must call the library, email us, or sign up on our website and ask to be included. Our phone number is (503) 435-5561 and email is libref@mcminnvilleoregon.gov. You can also sign up using the online form here.  At sign up we will ask to verify that we have the correct address for you on file.

Are there limits on what I can check out?

No. But do note that deliveries will only be made to your location at most once a week. We have hundreds of locations we now deliver to. With limited staff time, vehicle options, and vehicle space, we cannot guarantee a delivery every week. We promise to do what we can with the resources we have.

How do I request more materials?

The easiest way to request materials for delivery is to search on the catalog website for what you want and then to place a hold on the material. Our courier is now running Mon-Thur and all CCRLS libraries except Salem Public Library are routing their materials. If you need help navigating this process, please give us a call and we can walk you through it. If you would like our reference or children’s librarians to help you select new materials, you may call the children’s line at (503) 435-5559 or the reference line at (503) 435-5562.

That’s great that I can do this online. But what if I don’t have my library card number or password to login?

If you don’t have your card number or password please still give us a call at 503-435-5561. Library staff will verify the information on file and can either place requests for you or issue you a temporary login.

What do I do with materials that have been delivered and need to be returned?

If you have items to be returned you can either return them to our outside library book drop or give the materials to our delivery librarians in the packaging in which they were delivered to you (i.e. plastic or canvas bag).

This seems like a lot of work for the library. Can I come by and pick up my items?

Yes, you may come into the library to pick up your holds if you would like to. The building is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-8 and Saturdays from 10-5. To get more details on the services we are providing and how we are managing opening, click here.

Do I need to be home when deliveries are made? How will I be notified when a delivery is on the way?

We recommend that you or someone in your family is home to accept delivery. But it is not necessary. If you are not at home library staff will leave your materials at your doorstep or in another location you inform us is a safe place to leave the materials. If that is not possible or you do not wish for us to leave deliveries when you are not home, please indicate this when signing up for the program.

When setting up your account for this program, staff will ask if there is a cell phone number we can text to let you know when we are on our way to your home. You will get a text when the driver is leaving the library and when they are expected to be about 15 minutes away. If you do not have a cell phone for delivery notifications, we cannot notify you prior to delivery. We apologize for this inconvenience to our land line patrons.

When will my deliveries be made?

We are delivering to McMinnville locations with SW and SE in their address on Sundays. We deliver to all McMinnville NW addresses on Wednesdays. And we deliver to McMinnville NE addresses on Fridays. Your delivery driver will most likely deliver between the hours of 11am and 5pm on whatever day you are scheduled for.

Delivery drivers will not stop at your location only for library material returns. We will only stop at your location if you have requested materials and we have had enough time to process that request prior to your delivery day. Otherwise, we will deliver those materials to you the next week or you may come into the library to pick them up in person on a day we are open.
