Tree Regulations
Regulations for privately owned trees and "street trees" are different. To find out which regulations apply, first identify your property boundaries. If the tree is fully or partially in the right of way, the tree is considered a street tree.
Private Property
No permits are required to prune trees on private property.
Public Trees
Street trees within the Downtown Tree Zone have unique removal and major pruning standards. The city is responsible for pruning and removing street trees in the Downtown Tree Zone.
