Join the Friends of the McMinnville Public Library
Friends provide support to the library and community by:
- Purchasing new books, Audio CDs, DVDs, board games, puzzles and equipment for loan to adults, teens and children
- Promoting reading through adult programs and author presentations
- Supporting programming for teens and children
- Providing volunteers within the library as needed
- Funding small special projects
- Promoting the Memorial and Celebration Book programs
- Providing match money for applications for select external grants
- Raising money for the activities listed above through sales of donated gently used books, CDs and DVDs (normally held on second Saturdays of odd-number months)
Why should I consider becoming a Member of the Friends?
- I appreciate services and programming that the library offers
- I want to help provide opportunities for educational and programmatic enrichment to all members of my community
- I want to help augment City budget allocations to the library, which alone aren’t adequate to fund all the programs and services provided
What are some benefits of membership in Friends?
- Ease and convenience of providing support to the library and, through it, the community
- Invitation to special library events where Members can connect with each other in a casual, relaxed atmosphere
- Delivery of informative and inspiring Friends Bulletins via email (Spring and Fall)
